How to order aluminium profiles from China
Ordering aluminium profiles from China follows five steps: send an enquiry with your models and finishes, receive a written quotation, approve samples or drawings, then production, packing and shipping. This guide walks through each step so you know what to prepare and what to expect.
Step 1 — Send a clear enquiry
Start by listing what you need: model codes (for example NG-07-0.8 or LB-19-0.9), quantities or total weight, finish (anodised, powder-coated or wood-grain), and your destination port. If you are replacing an existing profile, send its cross-section dimensions or a photo. Clear enquiries get faster, more accurate quotations.
Step 2 — Receive and check the quotation
Your quotation confirms model codes, dimensions, wall thickness, alloy, temper, finish, packing, quantity, Incoterm (FOB, CFR, CIF and others on request), loading port (Shenzhen or Guangzhou), lead time (10–30 days depending on colour and finish), and payment (full payment before dispatch). Read it line by line — every item confirmed here is what you will receive.
Step 3 — Approve samples or drawings
For a first order, approve a sample section or the technical drawing before production. Check dimensions, wall thickness and finish against your requirements. This step removes most disputes before they happen.
Step 4 — Production, inspection and packing
Profiles are extruded, finished, cut and packed in export bundles. You can inspect before shipment or appoint a third-party inspector — your choice is confirmed in the quotation.
Step 5 — Shipping and documents
You receive the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading with the shipment. Your clearing agent handles import formalities at your port. Typical transit times are confirmed with your forwarder. Full payment is made before dispatch.
What first-time buyers should prepare
Have these ready before you enquire: your profile models or drawings, estimated quantity, preferred finish, destination port, and your preferred Incoterm (FOB, CFR or CIF). If anything is still open, we mark it "confirmed at quotation" so nothing is assumed.
How long does a typical order take?
Lead time is 10–30 days, depending on colour and finish. Your quotation confirms the lead time for your order.
Can I order a small quantity first?
Yes — there is no minimum for models with an existing mould. Many first-time buyers start with a small trial order to check quality before committing to container loads.
What documents do I receive with my shipment?
Commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Your clearing agent tells you what else your country requires.
